Hamdard
University, at its 11th Convocation, conferred degrees and gold medals
to its passing out students of various graduate and post-graduate
programmes at Convocation 2007. Ceremony was held at Hamdard University,
Main Campus on Sunday evening. 1319 graduating students were awarded
degrees in various disciplines by Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, Chief Minister
Punjab as the Chief Guest and Dr. Arbab Ghulam Rahim, Chief Minister
Sindh as Guest of Honor.
The chief
guest and the guest of honor also congratulated the passing out graduates,
Chancellor, Vice Chancellor and faculty members of Hamdard University
and advised them to work with similar zeal and dedication to serve
the country.
The ceremony was also attended by Shaheed Hakim
Mohammed Said's daughter Sadia Rashid. Faculty members, including,
professors and lecturers, students besides parents and people from
various walks of life attended the convocation.
Graduates of MBBS, BDS and BEMS (Bachelor of eastern medicine) take
the oath by their respected deans.
The faculties in which Hamdard University gold medals were given included,
Humanities and Social Sciences (six medals), Health and Medical Sciences
(two), Eastern Studies (one), Pharmacy(one) Engineering Sciences and
Technology (sixteen), Legal Studies (two) and Management Sciences
(nine). Shaheed Hakim Mohammad Said Gold Medal was also awarded to
the Best graduates from each faculty.
