The 24th "Haiku Mushaira"

Hamdard students participated in 24th Haiku Mushaira “Tribute to Mohsin Bhopali”, organized by Pakistan-Japan Cultural Association, Sindh (PJCA) in collaboration with Pakistan Academy of Letters, on April 14, 2007, at Danishgah, Clifton.

More than 40 renowned poets participated and recited their Urdu translations of Japanese Haiku and original Urdu Haiku. From Hamdard University Ms. Sadia Zia Akbar, 4th Year, MBBS and Ms. Aisha Binte Mehdi, 3rd Year, MBBS also participated and show their poetic talent. A Japanese student, Ms. Satoko Oikawa, who is studying Urdu at University of Karachi, participated, too.

Mr. Rauf Siddiqui, Minister for Culture, Government of Sindh was the Chief Guest of the event. Large number of Haiku lovers admired the event.
