Hamdard
University, Inter Faculty “NAAT COMPETITION 2007”
To
mark the happy occasion of Eid-e-Millad-un-Nabi the Directorate of
Student/External Affairs, Hamdard University organized the Inter -
Faculty Naat Competition on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 10:00 a. m.
at FEST Building Auditorium.
Fatima
Surayya Bajia, Adviser to the Chief Minister, Government of Sindh
as the ‘Chief Guest’ and Madam Sadia Rashid, President Hamdard Foundation
as the ‘Guest of Honor’ graced the occasion with their presence.
Three Judges
who were nominated by the Directorate of Student/ External Affairs
for this competition are as follows:

In the competition each faculty is represented by two students (one
male and one female).
The result
of the Competition was judged on faculty basis and the following best
three faculties were awarded prizes according to their points.

The “Hamdard Foundation President’s Trophy” was awarded to the faculty
of Pharmacy being the winning faculty. (This trophy will be kept by
the winning faculty till the next Naat Competition.)
Miss Maryam Zakir, Faculty of Pharmacy was declared to be the “Best
Naat Khuwan” of Inter-Faculty Naat Competition 2007 and received the
“Vice Chancellor Award”. Certificates were distributed
to the all participants by three Judges.
In
the end, Fatima Surayya Bajia appreciated the efforts of organizers
and participants and said that theses kinds of events should be arranged
on regular basis in Universities and other academic institutes. She
highly praised the last messenger of Allah and said that he is the
perfect role model for all of us in every aspect of life.
She also stressed the importance of a permanent trainer or musician
in the premises of University to give regular training to motivated
students so that they can polish their talents.

Madam Jahan Ara Lutfi pointed out strengths and weaknesses of participants
and also discussed some of the important factors that a Naat khuwan
should keep in his mind while participating.
