More than ever, there is a demand for a skilled workforce with the scientific and technical training necessary to perform effectively on the job. Current steps taken by The Ministry of Science and Technology to produce re s e a rchers, technologists and scientists have opened new vistas for the industrial development in the country. This is further supplemented by our Government through different policies that have allowed greater flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) into Pakistan. Under the steps taken by our Government to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people and the implementation of free trade regime, the employers are being pushed to implement high standard on research and development creating a huge job pool which is to be filled up by new crops of engineers and scientists. The FEST is contributing its share to meet the demand for engineers, scientists and IT experts. Job fairs are arranged regularly.
Transfer of Students From Other Institutions
(a) The other institutions from where a student wants to transfer to HIIT must be a well-known and recognized institution and it must be running the similar (or equivalent) degree programme.
(b) If the student has not completed 50% of his/her course work at the other institution according to their curriculum and applies for the transfer, then he/she will be required to appear in our entrance examination, which we normally conduct for the new intake. A special examination or a detailed interview can also be arranged in lieu-of, if the date of entrance examination is far away.
(c) Courses, secured with other than ‘A’ or ‘B’ grades, are not transferable. This reflects on a ‘Numerical Grade’ as minimum 70%.
(d) If the student has already completed more than 50% of his/her course work then he/she can be given the waiver to appear in the entrance examination. The courses completed by the student at other institution will be compared with all similar courses being offered at HIIT. Any deficiency of course, shall have to be removed by the student.
(e) Not more than 2/3 of the courses can be transferred. This limit can be waived in case of the institutions, affiliated or are a part of the Hamdard University.
(f) The final authority shall be the head/director of the institute who can waive fully or partially any of the above requirements with regard to the transfer of the candidate.
