Admission Policy

Admissions to all programs at HIESS are given on merit basis, which is determined on academic qualification, entrance tests and interviews.

Admission Schedule

Admissions in diff e rent programs are off e red in Spring ( February / March), Summer (May/June) and Fall (August/September) semesters through advertisements at least 30 days before the commencement of each semester.

Attendance

The attendance requirement is 75%. Relaxation, if any, shall be given in accordance with the rules and regulations of the University.

Examination

The assessment is based on assignments, presentations, mid - term test and a final examination. Degree Requirement Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is minimum 2.5, calculated for all semesters.

Promotion

Students shall not be promoted to the next semester unless they pass 75% of the courses, i.e. any student who has failed in more than one subject shall not be promoted to the next semester without clearing the subjects in General Special xamination. Below 60% marks in a subject shall be considered as “Fail”.

Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Program

This is a 43 credit hours program. It provides 33 credit hours theoretical background to the candidates. Teaching practice of 6 credit hours provide on the job training to them. Student must pursue an individual project of 4 credit hours which has the potential of originality and it must be relevant with day to day work at the secondary school level and should contribute to the knowledge, skills and resourcefulness.

Selection of Optional Subjects

Students will be re q u i red to select two optional subjects from the following list of subjects. Only that subject will be offered in which four or more students are enrolled :

• Mathematics
• Islamiat
• Urd u
• Pakistan Studies
• General Science
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Biology
• Computer Science

Teaching Practice
Teaching practice includes 30 practice lessons (8 microteaching, 20 practice and 2 final lessons).
