Student Affairs Department
This
department functions under the supervision of Director Administration to promote
and facilitate extra curricular activities of the student. It coordinates
student activities and attends to students problems and provides the students
a free from worries environment and distraction. In addition the department
arranges recreational and study trips, organizes sports, debates and declamation
contests social welfare programs etc.
The
student affairs office has a section which looks after the admissions. There
is no discrimination on the basis of gender or class and female candidates
are encouraged to join any course of study of their choice. This office provides guidance regarding submission of admission forms
and also facilitates the students for hostel accommodation, public transport
and other arrangements, if so requested by the students.
Students
Affairs Office also acts as Information Centre to provide information to the
students and their parents regarding courses of studies, fee structure, dates
for admission test, interview and communicating or sending assistance and
scholarship are also attended by this section.
Sports
Activities
Galas,
thrills, colors, excitement, and friendship all this and more make life on
the campus blossom and smile all year around in scintillating activities.
Extra-curricular activities are a way to soften tough and grilling academic
rigor. There are clubs and societies not just giving you best moments of your
life but also stimulating your creative abilities into gratifying self expression.
A Sports Week is organized in each semester where teams from each institute
participate in different games such as cricket, football, badminton, table
tennis etc. An inter-university Cricket tournament is also organized every
year where teams from local universities compete for Hamdard Inter-university
Cricket Cup.
Co-curricular
Activities
The University arranges occasional educational visits to other
reputed organizations of the country and places of general interest. Excursion-cum-
study trips are also arranged.
Seminars
and Workshops
HUIC
encourages its students and faculty members to arrange seminars and workshops.
Each department participates enthusiastically in these activities in which
eminent scholars and leaders are invited to share their events with the faculty
and students.
Students
Societies
At HUIC,
student societies have been actively involved in almost all the major extra-curricular
activities held at the campus. Societies organize activities like debate/speech
contests, poetry competitions, seminars, lectures by guest speakers, essay
competitions, etc. It thus provides a platform to the students where they can express
their views openly and also improve their on-stage confidence and oral presentation
skills. The HUIC not only holds in-house functions but also prepares the students
for participating in various events held in other institutions all over Pakistan and aboard.
Financial
Assistance
Hamdard University is a not-for-profit entity and strives to provide quality
education on subsidized basis. The fee structure is so designed to make it
affordable for the students from varying socio-economic strata.
Hamdard
University Islamabad Campus (HUIC) provides Financial Assistance on merit
and sudden proven calamity i.e. death/disability of parent/guardian of the
students already admitted.
Alumni
Hamdard
University Islamabad Campus organizes Alumni get together annually. In this
gathering, elections take place for new Alumni council.
