The mission of Hamdard Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences is to develop a critical pool of human resource in the field of pharmacy, which can respond to the present as well as future needs of health and well being of the society.The institute, one of its kind is imparting highly professional education to the students in federal area.Pharm. D. program is designed to meet the future requirements as well as to accommodate the dynamics of Pharmaceutical care.

Basic Medical Sciences Laboratory

This Lab is inculcating the practical know-how of medical fraternity; the students are made competent for hospital environment by conducting various physiology and pharmacology practicals. It is amazing to note that student attendance in this lab is very high which ensures the quality of these practicals.

Pharmaceutical Chemistry Laboratory

The pharmaceutical chemistry laboratory is the multipurpose set up which embrace the skill of analysis,synthesis and here purification of medicinal compounds is also performed.This lab meets the requirement of different courses of chemistry in Pharm.D program.

Pharmaceutics Laboratory

The pharmaceutics laboratory is working with objective of developing a practical approach of good pharmacy practice which concentrating on compounding and dispensing techniques of different dosage forms.

Pharmacognosy Laboratory

Pharmacognosy lab provides an opportunity to the students to learn about the medicinal plants and different procedures to obtain the extract of different parts of the plants for the production of pharmaceutical reparations.Without having knowledge of pahrmacognosy one cannot be a good pharmacist that’s why we impart update knowledge of the sources of medicines in pharmacognosy laboratory.

Industrial Pharmacy Lab

All the pure and applied aspects of dosage form design and pilot plant scaling are exercised in this lab.During course of practical students enhance their ability to conduct R & D procedures, produce stable drug products and to invent new techniques of production .

Quality Control Lab

This lab is specified to carry out analysis of different kinds of dosage forms and students take keen interest in practicals,because there is always a new thing to learn. Out put of this lab is very healthy, graduates working in different industries are greatly respected which reflects the reputation of the institution .

Facilities

Library

HUIC- library is an Information Resource Center which is supervised by Librarian and other staff members. The library has a vast collection of books, journals, magazines and they are supplemented by the availability of photocopying facilities.Library has collections that correspond with the current information needs of subjects taught at the university.Photocopying and scanning facilities are provided for reference and journals' material. Our computerized catalogue helps to locate the material required by the students more easily. The library also has collection of a wide range of electronic resources, both on CD-CD's and online, including electronic books and access to thousands of online journals.Students also have the option to browse the internet on the PCs available in the library. Library staff is always available for assistance. The Library is ready to meet the scholastic challenges of today and tomorrow and has emerged as one of the vital gateway to knowledge and learning .

Computing Facilities

In the modern era of information, computing facilities at any institution form the lifeline of academic progress and excellence in research and development. The Campus staff encourages its students to make use of their nowledge and improve their skills.The computer laboratories at the Campus form the core support to the emerging fields in IT and Business Studies.There are seven computer labs currently operational with more than 180 workstations.Operating Systems Currently the operating systems under usage are modern means of NT4.0, Windows 2000 and
communication to enhance Red Hat LlNUX (9.0) Multimedia The Overhead Projectors and Multimedia Projectors are available to the students and faculty for facilitating lectures and presentations.File Storage Services The students get a space of 50 MB on the Local Area Network for storing their data and relevant documents. This storage space is referred as "Home Folder".Students can access their home folders from any location via the facility of FTP account, making it easy for them to upload data in their home folders with a lot of mobility.Internet Facility These days life without Internet seems impossible especially in case of an educational institution where lot of communication goes on. The university has DSL link of 1.5Mbps. Very soon the connections will be upgraded to wireless o satellite links.
Web Based e-mail The staff and students have been provided with the facility of E-mail service. The unique feature of this service is that it is very fast and supports heavy attachments as well.
