| Business News Activity was done by BBA II students in Introduction to Business subject, in which Financial Times newspaper was given to the students and they were asked to present one news, while presenting the news, students learned how to present, communicate (convey) & deliver the knowledge to others with confidence. | Hamdard University, HIMS Department, Islamabad campus has organized the International Conference on Business and Social Innovation (ICBSI-2018). The conference had foster international research collaborations in Management and Social Sciences as well as provided a forum to bring together renowned scholars around the world for knowledge exchange and value creation.
Researchers and Scholars presented their paper to the first ICBSI-2018, to encourage them to solve problems, put forward new ideas in shape of research work that innovates with new methods for practical problems. All papers related to theoretical developments and applications of management science were warmly welcomed. Business academics and research scholars (Professors, PhD/MS students) from across the globe attended this conference. | In order to amplify the importance of books, HIMS has arranged a visit to9th annual National Book Fair to follow the vision of Hamdard Institute of Management Sciences of providing more holistic business education and inculcate business acumen.
| As we all know that books play a significant role in our life. Whenever you open a book, it opens a new world which is packed with knowledge, insights into a happy life, life lessons, fear, prayer and helpful advice. In order to amplify the importance of books, HIMS has arranged a visit to the Pak-China Friendship Centre on the first day of 9th annual National Book Fair in Islamabad on Friday 6th April 2018withHIMS female faculty Miss WardaNadeem, Miss SanoberShaheen& Miss Munawwer Sultana along the students of BBA visited the venue.
President MamnoonHussain formally inaugurated the National Book Festival through hoisting the Book flag. The banners inscribed with pictures and names of prominent literary persons were displayed at different leading avenues of the federal capital to welcome the delegates. The festival was being arranged by National Book Foundation under the title “Kitaboon Ki DuniyaSalamatRahey” to promote book reading culture among the citizens and students. Prominent political leaders and other personalities participated in the event. The festival brought a number of attractions for the book lovers including display of 130 book stalls, book reading sessions and colorful activities for the students. Around 130 book stalls were set up by 110 private publishers and NBF in the festival carrying books on diversified subjects. Publishers from China, Iran, Turkey, Egypt, Tunisia, Tajikistan, Oman and Azerbaijan were also participated in the book festival along with more than one-hundred renowned national publishers. HIMS invites everyone (students) to organize their new business ideas around the world to promote on this day. | Case Development Activity was done by BBA VII students in business policy course, in which each student select a well-known company and develop its own case after which they were asked to present their cases, while presenting the case, students learned how to present, communicate (convey) & deliver the knowledge to others with confidence. They also got to know about six different MNC’s position in the market with their latest problems and strategies to overcome the problems and also their success factor. After each presentation there was a discussion which help students to know about not only the MNC’s position but the important ways to run the businesses. | Mr. Faheem Sardar, the Managing Director, TANGENT TA Consulting has visited, Hamdard University Islamabad Campus on Tuesday 9th July 2019 to finalize a social pioneering initiative by setting entrepreneurial development lab at Hamdard Institute of Management Sciences, Islamabad Campus.

| Activities related to communication were done by BBA 5th in Business communication. They were taught about verbal, non-verbal, written and visual communications. The students were asked to choose the activity of their choice and present it themselves. In the end they were asked about the activity and what they have learnt from it. The aim of these activities were to teach students how important communication is, types of communication, what problems they can face in future regarding to communication and how to overcome them. Moreover, these activities also improved the presentation skills of the students. It helped them to overcome their fears, stage fright, anxieties as these activities were done by the students themselves. All these activities were done in class in the supervision of Miss Warda Nadeem.

All the students of BBA department took part in different stalls. | A workshop related to Structural equation Modeling through SmartPLS on 14th and 15th December 2019 was conducted. As Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) has become increasingly popular for analyzing data in the social sciences. Applications of PLS-SEM have grown exponentially through the fundamentals of using SmartPLS 3 for typical data analysis processes. This workshop understands the today’s need and aims to organize two-days’ workshop on the use of Partial Least Squares – Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) in management and social sciences. The funds were collected from students and faculty and the plants were bought from the nursery and were displayed in the department. Plants painting activity was done by the faculty and the students.
